I just got back from the Country Living event held in Chicago. I was fortunate enough to be selected to pitch my Sweet Tree Totes and Handbag products to a talented panel of judges. It was such a great opportunity to be in the presence of such accomplished, passionate and successful women.
The day began at 8:00 with approximately 125 women entrepreneurs pitching their products with the hope of being picked for a spot in the July issue of Country Living Magazine. I was proud to be a part of such a great event and was in awe by the incredibly talented women that I had the pleasure of meeting. Fresh ideas filled the room and excitement was in the air. New twists to old products, fabulously affordable eco-friendly products, and artisans showing their wares that demonstrated the utmost of creativity. And if that wasn't enough...........all the attendees in the room hung on every word from the five winners of this year's Entrepreneur of the Year. These women possessed the confidence, passion, knowledge and stick-to-it-tiveness that we all wanted to hear about. Each and every winner told their personal story.........the good, the bad, and the ugly. All of us taking notes, and jotting down the tidbits of new found knowledge.
I walked away empowered and with a lot more information than I thought I would have walked away with. I met the most interesting, exciting and truly spiritual women and felt privileged to listen to their stories and their journey.
We pretty much all share the same common goal, to be recognized for our gifts and talents, and hope to one day be paid for what we love to do. Well, that would simply be the icing on the cake.!!! Most of all, I must say, I am proud to be a women , especially in this day and age of limitless opportunity.
